Water Safety Child in life preserver

Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional death among children ages 1 to 4 years and children 10 to 14 years. Actively supervising children in and around water reduces the risk of drowning; never leave a child alone even for a minute. Use life jackets and other safety gear, but know that any child can get in trouble in the water, even if he is wearing a life jacket or has taken swimming lessons.
